In other words...the best! YCIII all the way!!

3 things i don't like about YCIII
1. its name... i don't like the word "yankee"; it's a stupid name for a software
2. its icon, it's ugly
3. that horrendous logo in the program window, it a Y and C and it's useless.

yeah maybe that's all aesthetic rather than functional, but it bugs me

Would it make more sense if you were aware that there was a class of
fast ocean going sailing ships, winners of trans-Atlantic speed records,
before steam, called Yankee Clipper, and that (which also works with
CLIPboard), is what it's named after? Nah, probably even learning why
things are as they are can't win over ig...er...bias conceived without
knowledge.

Unfair! The OP clearly acknowledged that his reactions were based on
reasons of aesthetics, a self-evidently subjective response. I loathe
the Norwegian browser for reasons of aesthetics, and freely acknowledge
them to be entirely subjective. The OP made the same admission, is he
to be condemned for having an opinion? Or is the freedom to express
entirely subjective opinions extended only to some?

Many things can influence aesthetics. One is comprehension of the
origins of a form. I provided some background on that.

okay, i tried yankee clipper... not only does CLCL has a nicer
interface, but it's better in terms of features and customization

Got both of 'em. Neither is perfect but both are stable & seem to be
the best of the lot out there.

CLCL takes some setting up (4 optional plug-ins, two of which at least
that are really not so optional if you want a modicum of efficiency &
comfort) & has no help files.

YCIV apparently in the works.

You'll notice, if you reread my post, that I wasn't addressing anything
but the name, Mike -- that was your first point, and I was providing
some background on the logic behind it, in hope that putting a *reason*
behind the name might let it make more sense to you. So it's not a
matter of trying CLCL, whatever that is, to see if it's "nicer".

Don't care. I was only trying to fill you in on the name that you
didn't understand. :)
