Best free antivirus?

Avast gets my vote. I love the American voice telling me "virus database has
been updated"...with no effort from me!

I have been using it from inception and it has never caused me a moment's
trouble.

Staff answer emails.
There is a great forum.

After NAV it is a refreshing breeze!

Their server has been crap for about a fortnight.
It you don't time out, the download is about 3kb/s.

I've had this problem also. I don't mind though, since it is free.
Download speeds aren't much of a problem, unless there is a big update.
Download speeds are slow on my end, but usually the file downloads in a few
minutes.
