The bellsouth smtp server will not work if you are using the cox connection.
That was the point that Gary indicated (I missed that later). So only the
connection you are using will let you use the smtp server for them. So you
have a cox smtp server and if you are connected via cox as your service
provider then that smtp will work, but the smtp server for bellsouth will
only work if you are connected via their DSL line.

From everything you have stated before, you have both Windows Mail and
Thunderbird
email programs setup correctly. At this point I would check the outbound
port 25 side
of your firewall(s), or you Virus protection programs.
But you did that already, right?
Try turning off all virus protection for a few minutes and see if
something gets out.
If it gets out, then you've made progress.

If the ISP service one is connected to blocks port 25 for SMTP servers other
than their own, it does not matter what mail client one is using nor what
else one does with the settings. A blocked port is blocked and the only way
around it is to use a different port. My mail server uses a port I have
never seen used by any other server, so it doesn't seem to matter where I
visit. My mail always goes through except one hotel I stayed in that
blocked the port I normally use but allowed port 25. It took me a while to
figure that one out.

I already responded to this. Its not a Windows Mail issue. You are using
IE to access your mail from BellSouth, so its an IE issue. It may be
related to IE security.

Yeah, when you gave the detailed descritpion that's when I thought it might
be a server issue. Can you email yourself a message with an attachment from
Yahoo to BellSouth and get the attachments? That might give BS their own BS
back.
