Backup to CD

I want to make a backup of all that is in my
"Documents and Settings" .... I do the 'Copy'
but when I try to 'Paste' it to the CD-drive, I get an
error window, about it being a sub-folder of
something or other. What is it trying to tell
me, and how do I get around it?
 
Didn't your cd writer come with any software to use for burning a cd, like
Nero or Easy CD creator?

I am using the simple, easy-to-use software built
into XP ...

I'm not certain if you can do a copy & paste to the CD drive icon without
using packet writing software. If you are using XP's burning software you
might have better luck selecting the file and then right clicking and use
Send To or select the file and use Edit->Copy To
 
Sorry William I tried doing the Copy and Paste here using XPs software and
it works fine for me. I am uncertain why it isn't working for you.
