I started with Kerio 4, as someone recommended Kerio.

following and a great reputation, which must be why I switched to it a
year or so ago. How about this avast4 the poster mentioned? Is it
possibly a serious competitor for AVG or not?

I used AVG and afterwards Avast!4.
