And, if you want to save memory, set the AVG Update service from
automatic to manual. It will still start when you do a manual update
from control center. If you turn off the real-time checking, you can do
this with the AVG alert manager service too. AVG7 definitely uses more
resources than 6 did...

right click icon in task bar. Click launch AVG control center. Select
Schedule, then at bottom, open scheduled tasks. Edit 'update schedule plan'.
Either delete it or un-select the periodically update box)
