Assassins Creed for PC

I've finished this now, and I would really recommend it to anyone considering it. It is left open for a sequel, and it will be interesting to see how they go about making it (you'll know what I mean when you reach the end).

What do you think of it Flops, now that you are used to the controls? :)

Really enjoying it. It reminds me a little of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but a bit livelier.

I was beginning to think it was a bit rubbish, tbh, seemed just like an interactive movie, until I left the city and got my first horse.

It changed dramatically then, became more like a game.

I also suffered that same issue I had with Crysis where I couldn't see all the menu, until I set my desktop resolution to the same as in the game (1680 x 1050).

I haven't tried the gamepad yet but I probably will.

I do find some things aren't very clear what to do first of all.

Summing up, probably best new game to come along since Bioshock or maybe CoD4.

I know this is for PC thread but I got it on my 360 and it looks good so far!

Yeah it does take a little while to get going, but once you're out of the city there is plenty to do :D

On your other point of some things not being to clear, I found that a couple of times too. I wasn't quite sure where to go or what to do, but there weren't too many times when that happened (especially as you progress). :thumb:

Have had a couple of issues with this game.

First, my gamepad isn't recognised. It's a Logitech Wingman Cordless Mk 1, works fine with other games on this machine.

Also the game sometimes opens in a window. I checked the game's forums and this can be cured by pressing Alt + Enter, so not really a biggie.

It's also a little long winded to exit the game. There is a shortcut for this apparently but I forget what it is right now ;)

There will be a patch out soon to address several issues with the PC version. Interestingly enough, the patch will remove support for DX10. The game authors are then going to rewrite the DX10 engine and issue a patch in the future re-introducing DX10.

The reason being they're not happy with the DX10 part of the game as it is.

How odd, seems quite ok to me.

Really enjoying this game now, wandering round Damascus causing mayhem and killing peeps :)

Some reviews I've read say the nine missions are a bit samey. As I've only just completed the investigations to enable me to carry out the first one, I won't be able to say until I've done a few more.

The climbing parts definitely remind me of the Tomb Raider series but it's a lot more fluid and enjoyable.

I've fitted my new grafix card, btw, and all graphics are maxed out, even have v-sync on, and it's fine.

And I've got used to the controls now, I found having the 2 button mouse & keyboard option was best for me, too fiddly trying to use all the G5's buttons.

I'm going to load this on my AMD machine which has an X-Box 360 gamepad and see if that pad works with this game.
