Do you think it is alright, if a charity gives goods for free, like food
or clothings, and some guy drops in regularly and fetches some, and then
sells them at the next corner?

This would show the same state of mind, as the guy did, who sold Paul's
work.

Is it illegal? No.

If the said charity handed the goods to people under the restriction
that they are not used to make money with, it is a violation of their
TOS, and yes, this can make such behaviour illegal. Legally, a donation
is a contract, and if there are are any conditions broken in the
aftermath, you have violated some laws, at least in Germany, where a
donation is a kind of "unilateral exchange", both do agree on it, and
so it is a contract, altoghether with its conditions.

If your granddad gave you money and told you to spend it on good books,
and you bought some liquor instead, he would have all the right to be
pissed off. As a relative, he won't sue you in court; but it still
ain't right.

Excellent.
Illegal? No. Unethical? Yes.
People receive free things all the time - from the donation store - and
sell them. They are called the 'poor'.
Personally, I would give them whatever they need.
The person in question though, has to be taken as being chalked up to
experience. He violated the spirit of freeware. He/she has stopped.
And I DO think it is unfortunate. It's time to move on.

<GIGANTIC SNIPPEROO RHAT CHEER!!!!>

MY KILL FILE RUNNETH OVER! PLONK THIS teeny-bopper A*S!

This USED to be a decent ng. It's full of dipsticks who are useless.
BEST of luck Paul! Only one minor comment: Dipsticks like the one above isn't "of
avg intelligence".
I'm glad that spammer got a 9 year jail sentence...I hope you win Paul and that the
perps receive the same!

No, they are called criminals. What you have just described is illegal.

The above is a court document describing someone convicted of converting
charitable funds to his own use, in the eyes of the law identical to what
you describe above.

A description of a Wisconsin law that makes the same point.

The above is a story about someone suspected of selling free charitable
items, which is a crime.

When I first read "dszady"'s posts, I thought it impossible for someone to
be this stupid. But I was overly optimistic, and I now understand why he
doesn't have the nerve to post under a real name.
And I DO think it is unfortunate.

It certainly is. People like "dszady", people who have no useful
information, end up placing the majority of Usenet posts.
It's time to move on.

I'll say. Those who want to avoid joining "dszady" in his nadir of ignorance
should certainly move on.

You still lose. Sorry. And I'm not the rocket scientist that you are.

You also aren't the human being that I am. You haven't evolved to that
minimal state, proven by, among other things, your cowardly unwillingness
to reveal your identity.
Don't f*cking call me names Java Man.

There is no "you" to call names, since you don't have the nerve to identify
yourself. This means you have no rights, on the ground that it is not
possible to libel a nickname. Welcome to the adult world, larva.
You lost. Suck it up.

Count the votes, read the relevant case law, and acknowledge your error.

It's right in front of your face. If you are so smart, figure it out.
Be hard to see from inside the Bozo-bin with your Bitch Helen.
