Well that's pretty awesome. You found it!
I figured it have to come from someone who had it.
I'd ask ya how ya found it 'cept I'm 'fraid I'd hear that
dreaded "Learn to Search" ringing in my ear. <grin>

Nah, that would have been a really hard search. Unearthing an old program,
that lived a short life, and has the exact same name as the known version.
I'm not going to ask Zo either, how the success in the search, but that's
because I don't want to impose for someone's "trade secrets."

They're more hostile if you use one of their own. They kick
and shove you about; and do writes to your registry with a
great fury. I actually had to purchase a specialized
browser (scitrav 1xb) specifically for surviving the MSFT
sites (esp to keep free from all those frames).

You wouldn't josh a fella would ya?
Google turns up nothing for scitrav 1xb.

Thanks-a-Bunch

You've very welcome :-).

Just to let you and Karen know, it was Karen's "article" post that
provided me with the necessary amunition to further the search. All the
time I had been searching for the regclean.exe. Doing a Google search on
the first paragraph of the article Karen posted resulted in only one
hit, but that hit had the complete article. In the last paragraph of
that article there is mention of a "regcln.exe" (notice no "a") so I
Googled that one and the rest is well, "history" :-) It was all in the
name. So thank you Karen.

I could have read that article twenty times, without spotting that minute
detail. That's like Sherlock Holmes. The magnifying glass honing in on the
key to the mystery... <G>

See, I didn't even think to drop the 1xb when searching. :)

Glad it didn't go that way - as I would have then become responsible
for your learning "everything you never wanted to know about wastewater
management."
Thanks, I'm checking it out now.

I'm resisting commenting extensively on it, since if I start spending a
lot of space recommending payware, then I'd be inclined to flame myself.

.....And if I flamed myself, then I'd have to flame myself back, and with
that, a whole flame war would ensue, and it could go on and on, unless
resolved by plonking myself, and I really didn't want to plonk myself,

You mean the way of windows.com, yeah bummer that!
If I'd known they were going to sell out, I think I'd've tried
to archive their site.

I'll take your word for it that I wouldn've found 1X. I'm a
believer.

I hear ya, but I'd pay for a good alternative Mosaic based
browser. I don't think I'd pay for, not being able to control
page renditioning of colors & fonts.
