Anyone know what this means?

If nothing saves you, then backup all things you need on floppy or cd`s then reinstall and try to educate people that using Limewire is very very dangerous... as is all file sharing applications .

Thank you everyone

I have backed up everything - run every scan that people have suggested (many things were already installed and up to date) and nothing is showing. Even cardboard shield (Norton)!!

I am wondering whether VR was right - perhaps the problem isn't on my machine although the re-booting has been strange today.

The Limewire needs to go - my lot know a lot less than me (that tells you something!!) - failing that, they perhaps had better get their own PC!!

Many thanks

From what you have said, My guess is its the site, But you never know.

One more thing is that i wouldn't use I.E, Go for Firefox. Its so much better than I.E. :thumb:

There is nothing wrong with your PC.

;)

There is a hackers competition go on ... many WebSites are being hacked.

ANY P2P software should be used with caution, they are a target for Trojans.

I used to be a fanatical supporter of Norton ... I highly recommend replacing it with AntiVir (Free) or KAV (paid for)

CCleaner is a fantastic little program for clearing out the Crap ... get it, use it, but do NOT install the Yahoo browser, un-tick the box at installation time.

Hello Mucks

I have had CCleaner for ages and use it every week or so.

Re: re-booting : if you go to the beginning of this thread I explained that my PC has been re-booting itself today for no apparent reason, that and the WHACKERZ etc..... made me wonder what was going on. It hasn't re-booted for a few hours now. Perhaps a coincidence, I don't know but the PC was playing up today a bit.

I feel very sorry for the people who have had their sites hacked into by these people.

Love

Is it possible to delete IE. altogether,
or would this have an adverse effect.

Harry
No, you cannot 'delete' IE, it is part of the OS ... just use Firefox instead.

Please
, it is always best to start your own thread, I get a little peeved when people "jump-in" on someone else's thread. You'll get a better response from all by asking in your own thread.

:)

What we think has happened is that I tried to access a site (Doncaster Chamber of Commerce) that has been hacked. However, the confusing factors were that my PC was playing up (re-booting for some strange reason) and the homepage wasn't always available. I am as sure as I can be from the various scans + the protection I have in place that nothing has got through....... but the Limewire needs to go in my opinion HOWEVER husband and son not keen on that idea.

Thanks for asking

Love

Gabs xx
