Microsoft has just released a list of about fifty programs which it
says will "perform differently" after installing SP2.

Guess what? Microsoft Office is one of them. As is almost all of the
antivirus programs, Kerio Personal Firewall, and other stuff.

What do they mean by "perform differently"? Who knows?

I suspect it doesn't automatically mean that you will have a problem,
which I think a lot of people are taking this list to mean.
They don't
say specifically what the issues are for each program.

They even say some users might not have issues, so go figure. The whole
advisory is just kind of pointless really.

For what's it worth, I have several programs on the list, and as far as I
can tell, they all work fine.

FWIW I have been running SP2 RC2 since it's release and SP2 final since it's
release. I have had 0 problems and Office works fine as does McAfee. I don't
run anything buy the XP firewall so I cannot comment on that.

I did the network D/L.
Took about 15mins to download on roadrunner.
Took about 20 mins to install on a 1.4 256 AMD.

I was not in love with the firewall so I turned sygate back on.
I have been running custom themes and it killed them as I knew it would.
So using "classic" for the moment.

Besides that everything seems kind of smooth and I like the popup blocker.
