Windows 7 Any software that for windows 7 to make playable DVD?

I tried the Windows DVD Maker, but failed with it, my friend said me to use windows media player, but it only can direcly burn things to DVD disc, that won't work on DVD players! I believe that the videos need to be converted to another formats, alright? Whch format? and How? Plz give me some advise...thank you very much.

You can use Nero 10.00 , or you have to convert the video to dvd format and then write it with normal wmedia player ... for converting use total video converter .. that will be best solution for u ..
