Alternative word processors without bloat?

There is also Openoffice at openoffice.org and you can select which
componenet s to install or uninstall. I've been using this for about 3
years now.

old thread. just for the google crowd: If you download a knoppix
dvd, it comes with the openoffice suite as well as a ton of other
software. Free. Amazing the power of buying off the mass media.
