As far as anyone outside of Real3D and Sega knows, Real3D never made
any silicon for a game console. several console proposals were made to
Sega by Real3D, but nothing really happened.
So I was talking about what Real3D did in reality, 10 years ago, with
Model 3. the technology in Model 3 was completed in 1995 even though
VF3 was not out until fall 1996.
the Xbox 360 does indeed owe some of its heritage to Renderman CG
shaders, but there is little sense in denying that Real3D technology is
also part of the mix
quote: Dave Baumann, Administrator of Beyond3D:
"Xenos was primarily done at Orlando and Boston, so many of the
ex-Real3D guys (Orlando) worked on this."
