Aero on 32 bit edition?

sorry to say taht : buy a new card.

PixelShader is a hardware-feature and Vista wants the card to fullfill that
features.

Card must fully DirectX 9 support in Hardware, don't misunderstand DirectX
in Software and Hardware. For example - a old PCI 4MB S3 Card back from Win
3.11 days can be used on XP or Vista with DX9/10, but the card doesn't
support the DX in Hardware.

Radeon 9250 is a DX 8 Card, not Aero-capable.

Thanks for the info Robert. Once I get to pixel shader 2.0, assuming
everything else is correct, does Windows Vista Aero magically appear in the
Color Scheme list?

it should be that way, at least it is expected so.

( RC2 has a bug about enabling Aero ; all before and after are ok )

The video card must have a WDDM driver. There are cards which meet the
hardware specs .... 128MB of memory, pixel shader 2, etc. .... but for
which no driver exists (or necessarily will exist). So you will have to
do some research.

I upgraded from an ATI Radeon 9200 SE to an ATI Radeon 9550. The 9550 gave
me aero. When you change your video card Aero may not automatically appear.
However, just right click on the desktop, select Personalize and in the
personalize window click Themes. From the theme drop down box select Windows
Vista theme. You will also find that, by replacing your video card, the
Windows experience Index will not automatically update. To update this see
the following on my website:

ATI Radeon 9250 is not "Aero" compatible. For that you will need a new video
card .. 9500 and up - check ATI's new website on the AMD domain:
www.ati.amd.com.

Or wait .. wait until January or whenever you obtain a copy of RTM'd Vista
and aquire a card then.
