Hi Robert;
I type www because I find web addresses in magazines, I do not know how else
I can explain it. I am running XP home and IE6 and I just spent over an hour
trying to figure out command prompt which I find very obtuse to understand.
I tried to follow your directions and I went to system help but I obviously
cannot figure out how to do it so...thank you for your help anyway and best
wishes to you.

Ah. Ok. That would be another example of URLs which would have
to be typed. Then why not type the protocol prefix too?
(At most you would see some of your sites which start with H.)
Or even better paste a constant http://www. in the Address bar
before you start appending your site name to it, then you won't see

If you can't put your confusion into words I can't help you.
If you can describe what you are trying, what you expect, what you see,
people here can give you hints. What you won't get is spoonfeeding.

BTW in reviewing the thead I see that Dagtuz OT post was more
useful to you than I realized. If you went to that page he gave you
a link to, you would find Mike Burgess' approach to solving your
problem under the heading: To delete the History folder and index.dat (XP)
Note that to use it you need either another account with Administrative
authority or another OS on an alternate partition which can access
and delete that subdirectory.

Good luck

Robert
