"add new folder" in win98 without right-clicking?

i used to be able to do it with a desktop helper called coolkeys but
it stopped working for some reason.

CoolKeys did many other things but some of those things were buggy,
so the author discontinued it to avoid and legal hassles. There
was a post here about it ages ago. You can still use it to create
folders if you want -- do a search for it, it's still around.

Nice find. Just tried it, works like a charm on win 98SE.
Looks like a winner in the
smallest-solution-for-a-easier-way-to-create-a- new-folder-contest.

It depends. If you already have a Windows tweaking program, chances are
that you don't need another hefty download. :-)
For example X-Setup let's you do that.

Strange, I searched the site of SOS (which I always do for old freeware
when Google comes up empty) for "jazz", but I didn't find it.
Glad it's still aroubd, very nice small program.

Whatayaknow. . . You're absolutely right. Jazz doesn't work. Folder
Jazz doesn't work (even with sound alike matching checked - big help
that is). :( The *only* search that works on SOS's site is FolderJazz.

OTOH. . . ;)

<begin today's search tips>

If you do a "find" for "Jazz" on the acf Program Index page you *will*
locate FolderJazz, a link to SOS's site and the right name to search for
when you get there.

http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/acf/P_ProgramIndex.php

Treepad also finds the Jazz *segment* of the FolderJazz. I usually
search my Treepad file first because it's so easy to do (and I always
have it open). The Treepad file is here:

http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/ftp/acf_Programs.hjt
(774 KB) (11-Dec-2004)

</end search tips>

that's too bad. i had looked up his website earlier to see if he
updated it but that's gone too. i don't see why he would have legal
problems, wouldn't all you need is the boiler plate "not my fault, at
your own risk" readme?

Zo, speaking of finding things, chance you ever gave a shot on the quest
which was posted last month for a vanished prog name "HTML Rename"? I made
attempts that felt pretty exhaustive on that one, came up empty.

But how do you get that into an old distribution? You can't. If you
downloaded an old version then you wouldn't know about the bugs... and
thus get caught out.

but you can still download coolkeys in various areas so removing the
website and program doesn't solve that problem.

Did you check out my Ping to 2 Poor? I think I found a program similar to what's
being requested, if not the same program with a different name because there is a
shareware program with the same "HTML Rename!" name out there. Just a guess.
Take a look.
