Tell me how you killed Nakido please Bob.
I failed to and so had to resort to a 'System Restore'

Start,,Run,,msconfig,,Services,, (un-check Nakido).

Re-start windows.

Find,,"nakido", delete the .EXE and .DAT files.

If you use Win9x, I guess you can delete nakido.exe in safe mode.

The usual SpyBot, Ad-Aware, and Spyware Blaster, plus WinPatrol to
watch my startup processes and hosts file.

As an aside, I don't even use WinPatrol any more. Is there anything that
it does that the Tea Timer function of SpyBot doesn't?

EDIT: Just remembered..Cookies... Is that it??

Just Wondering,

Eric

Woa! Good call Omega!

Currentversion is 6.0.619, which was a "silent update". Mine was 6.0.618,
still fairly new.

Do you still have 6.0.618? If so, would you mind upping it to
alt.binaries.freeware? I have a few noob friends who would like a good
viewer but lack the comp-savvy to neuter 6.0.619.

thanks

Hi

I love and use XnView (on Windows, Linux and Pocket PC!).

I too, need to be able to move/copy thumbnails to other folders, but I've
never had a problem doing that.

Wait a sec and I'll try it right now. . .

Hey, it worked again. I didn't get a menu popping up or anything, the file
was just moved like in Explorer. The "copy to folder" menu option also
worked fine.

I did these tests in WinXP Home, using XnView c.1.74.

So please don't give up so soon on XnView. I've found it a great
alternative to my old ThumbsUp software, and haven't had any problems with
it over the last couple of years.

In Win98se, I use the left mouse button to drag thumbnails of pics from
folder to folder in XnView. The right mouse button won't work.

He Dud, I have it zipped. It needs no install. Just unzip to a folder and
run. Will that do?

Just Wondering,

I don't remember what all TeaTimer does.

Here's a features list from WinPatrol. I think the list below is pretty
optimistic, but it does some things very nicely. I can tell you it's not
such a memory hog or as annoying as TeaTimer, as I recall.

Increase Your Speed & System Performance.
Defeat the JPEG Exploit and Vulnerability!
Detect & Neutralize Spyware. Detect & Neutralize ADware.
Detect & Neutralize Viral infections. Detect & Neutralize Unwanted IE
Add-Ons.
Detect & Restore File Type Changes Automatically Filter Unwanted Cookies.
Avoid Start Page Hijacking. Detect HOSTS file changes.
Kill Multiple Tasks that replicate each other, in a single step!
Stop programs that repeatedly add themselves to your Startup List!
Delete and Remove the most Stubborn Infections

Even better. Post at your convenience.

I wanted to add note of something on this. The current download, the version
6.0.619, that was a change in the installer only. To bundle the spyware. The
program itself, from that download, it is still version 6.0.618 (2004.04.04).

I didn't see whether Bob had done an upload yet. But if you have already
done an install of the current release (killing off malware, and the
installer krap from your system) -- then the program folder that you have
remaining is good to go.

Karen & Dud,

I just sent the 6.1.618 setup file up to ABF.

A nice thing about Firegraphic is that it's "portable". That is to say, once
installed, the install folder can be zipped and moved to another machine or
folder. I started to just do it that way, then found the actual install
file.

Enjoy!

I do use either irfanview (which many not be too similar) or Xnview
(which can be moved easily too); it depends on what you need from the
program.

True, but some newb friends of mine wish to get the spyware free version.

Hello Bob
I haven't seen it on abf yet mate?
thanks,

How long ago was your download? Perhaps the malware bundling was a later
addition. (Google groups search doesn't turn up prior result for "nakido."
The couple messages that come from a search on "firegraphic and spyware,"
those are Jan 2004 and March 2004.)

I have asked the autor what is nakido and here is the answer i received
today

Hello,

The Nakido.exe file is used for the auto update purpose. It will update
your Firegraphic 6 whenever it is available.
