I just put together a system (sorry it is not a Asus, but it was basically a
free motherboard <g>) and I installed a Kingston 333MHz PC2700 256 MB Ram
(Backwards compatible to 266MHz and PC2100) and the system does not boot
with it. I had to purchase a Kingston 266MHz PC2100 256 MB for the computer
to boot. Conclusion: YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE CORRECT RAM!!!
BTW Is the board out of the case....like on a anti-static mat for testing
purposes?

PC number must be the same . Someone else can explain why the brands
have to be the same. Their no way to go cheap or mix and match brand
