I only actually use one editor now, and thats my own custom built
one........ (I even do my programming in it now to save me a little more
time). I've come accross many many many different notepad but what I'll
never understand is why people simply write errr...... another notepad?
(I've come accross hundreds that are simply Notepad with a different name).

In trying to use NoteTab Lite I find it very complicated. Now I can't find
any information on how to DELETE the scripts I was playing with last night.
Highlighting and hitting the delete key doesn't work. There is NO DELETE
selection or button on the bar and nothing about how to delete what's on
the pad in the helpfiles. How do you delete unwanted work in this program?

Moriah....
Wish I could help you, Moriah, but I never use scripts myself, so
I don't know anything about them. I use NoteTab Lite for basic
wordprocessing, and for stripping out HTML tags from HTML
downloads, when I want to convert them to text or other formats.

Actually that's all I'm looking for - a plain NOTEPAD like the one that
comes with W98 only able to hold larger files. Why do the all the others
have all kinds of complicated unwanted and unneeded functions?

Here is one that looks plain and simple

Another you might want to have a look at:

The free version of my editor isn't too much more complicated than Notepad is.
The shareware version is even more scaled down. It loads big files fast.
You just need the proper .ocx controls registered on your system,
and the vb5 run-times.

And do not make the mistake of thinking that a feature is "unneeded" just
because Notepad doesn't have it. Notepad needs more features. That is
the reason why many are using freeware or shareware editors.

Metapad fits the bill nicely.
