Had a 300w power supply when i got my 9700 pro, less than 2 weeks later
the power supply stopped working so upgraded to a 550w power supply
all is fine now :)

Thomas are you doing scsi raid?
im thinking of getting 3 or 4 small scsi drives and setting them up as raid
0.
just had to ask and if you are whats it preform like?
load times stability junk like that.
only thing holding me up now is SATA im checking into that also as a raid
setup.
IDE raid just dont preform that great.

I had a 300w Antec SmartPower and a fairly loaded system w/3 HD's, 4
case fans, zip drive,,,, you get the picture. Everything worked fine.
Well, when I swapped out my Plextor 1210a burner for a DVD burner I
started having burning problems. Error messages, hanged burn
processes, etc. After some trouble shooting I replaced the 300w Antec
SmartPower for a 430w Antec TruPower. (it has isolated 3.3 & 5v rails)
No more problems!

I'm doing SCSI raid, but on my Compaq P-75 server ;-) Really just a hobby
project. I did manage to install WIndows 2000, so if you want i can compare
some forms of RAID on my 2 GB drives ;-) I just remembered Sandra crashed
when doing HD tests :-(
Any other program?

On my normal machine, i try to do scsi the cheap way :-) I think even just
the 'bare' benefits of SCSI over IDE are enough to choose for SCSI. The
price keeps me from being a real enthusiast ;-)
