my son's 9100 is clocked at 275/275 (stock) and was bought from
newegg.com.
That's strange. I wanted to check 9100 with ATI website, but there is NO
9100 at all?!
There is 8500Le but no 9100. Maybe it's just a 3rd patry card, not made by
ati. However many manufactureres clock their cards differently depending on
memory and cooling supplied.

early 9100 cards were clocked to 250/250.the later cards(they're no longer
being produced)were clocked to 275/275.newegg had them on sale and i doubt
there are any left.saphire made this card.he doesn't need anything drastic
to play his games.

500.0$ US dollars? I don't beleive it. You must be mis-remembering. I've never
heard of any vid-card going for that much (the 9800XT's are only about 400.00$
right?).
I dont want to fall in that marketing game. I mean, 2.5 yrs ago I
spent 500$ on a graphics card (GF2 GTS PRO) and now... well it is
obsolete, nor did I really use it to its fullest back then.

ok my quick concersion wasnt correct

it was 130.000 - 140.000 greek drachmas
with a conversion rate of 340.75 drs per euro
thats around 400euros

but it wasnt the most expensive card on the market at that time and
for that I am sure

Yep... The GF2Ultra used to cost $500... When the GF3 came out, it
too was a $500 product that smoked the GF2Ultra.. Funny thing of
course is that the GF2Ultra dropped to $400 or until the GF3 was on
the shelf... LOL... GF3-500 was about $400 (Org GF3 had dropped to
$300)

Ti4600 was a $400~500 card

fx5800Ultra was a $500 product, but wasn't worth $300. Some guy sold
the fx5900Ultra on ebay for $1200 to some geek who couldn't wait
another 30 days to buy it from a store for $400~500.

The Nvidia SUX-6600 will sell for $500 or so as well... As does the
next ATI card... whatever they will call it. I don't think they'll
call it the ATI 10700 (5 digits just doesn't work)... I suspect a
whole new NAME series..

I guess I can't really complain too much about the ~300.00$ I spent for my 9800
Pro then. I remember paying almost 200.00$ for my old Hercules Dynamite Power
VLB w/2MB of DRAM and the ET4000AX chipset. I was able to run Quake on that
vid-card w/my trusty Cyrix 5x86 120.

I used to have that Cyrix CPU as well.... POS...

Cyrix had KILLER 486 chips (not the cheap 386chips with 486 ext - DLC
&SLC series) the DX80~120s were super fast, yet cooler than Intel or
AMD... you could touch them with your finger while running.

Cyrix lives on today in VIA systems as C3 CPUs... fanless 1000Mhz
systems.
