915/925 vs 865/875

no English is not the official language. It is FARSI.
Farsi - never heard of that before :)

Well, it's quite different from what you might think. For example it's not as rigid and unbearable(from the freedom point of view) as the PR tries to tell people in Europe and US.
I haven't really heard much about Iran to be honest - it's not mentioned too much here at all really apart from Iraq this, Gulf war that, Saddam blabla blablabla bla bla...

i heard something about the earthquake though - your Taikwondo gold medalist sold a previous olympic gold medal and put the money to help with the aftermath etc etc - must be a nice bloke.

One bad thing is that the social security is not as good and the per-head-income is much less than Europe.
Well i guess it must be directly proportion - for example us Englanders might earn more than you but i bet the cost of living is drastically lower...

And that the average home IS larger than in Europe
sounds cool!

though not US
Well thats to be expected - Americans like stuff biiiig!

Plus I am rather talented in language learning
thats cool - the majority of Englkish can't be bothered to learn foreign languages because its the most common one lol

Nope, it's not exaclty the thing. Living cost are RELATIVLY high, compared to the income...
And another bad thing is that the internet speed really sucks. I have only 40-48 Kbps. And DSL is just being introduced, and it's still not available everywhere :(

wow that must really suck - would it be to do with the recent happenings in the Middle East? or has it always been like that?

40-48? woah... thats not even 56....

and im looking at upgrading to 1 mbit!

i feel sorry for you :( lol

No, it has always been like that, if not worse. But as I said, DSL is BEING introduced. In 3-4 months it will be available in my area. You know, the phone lines have recently been changed from the old copper to glassfibers, and the cellphones are quite good. Almost one out of 4 cellphones in Tehran has got a camera to go with, although MMS is not quite popular. People just like showing off :D and many people do have cells...

I'm gonna post a couple of pictures from the streets tomorrow so you can more or less imagine what it looks like here...

Thats awesome - !!!

I would love to see what Iran looks like because it's one of those places that not all to many people from around here go too or gets TV coverage...

I'll check the gallery tomorrow :)

Or maybe the day after, but I'm sure to post some pics. I wamted to do that for a long time now...:)
