when i was looking that was one i saw
but hadn't dealt with then before...
i'll have another look at them

thanks

They're no NewEgg, but they have done well by me, also.

They will per test their "combo" MB/CPU sales for a small
fee. This avoids any problem with BIOS upgrades being
needed to install the CPU.

Luck;

no way will i be getting a large format printer...
someone i know spent $800 in paper and ink...
just learning how to use it!!!!

Um...we have large format Epsons and all I can say to that is HOLY CRAP!!!!
Sorry, but that is rediculous. OR they are getting RIPPED OFF on supplies.

If you buy ink-jet cartridges from Epson, you *do* get ripped off!
Fortunately, there are many cartridge suppliers at less than half OEM
prices. There may be a problem with some "large format" printers. HP
has the nozzles built in the cartridges, and they are protected by patents.

i have never had any problems buying directly from epson.
i have tried some lower priced ink...and though it printed ok...
it seemed to clog up the printer a bit more than the epson product...
but don't really have any hard evidence.

anyway i have been looking at motherboards for the machine
i hope to build...
and noticed that the ASUS A8N5X
has the features i'm looking for...

i'll probably think it over for another week or so

YES!
I checked out Monarch and they seem to have everything I need
at a good price...
at this time i've got the whole thing configured...
as of now i'm leaning toward the Ausus A8NE mobo
and the X2-3800 cpu...and 2 gigs of ram
and will just need to figure out what video card i'll be getting.

The only kicker is that it will end up costing at least $800 or $900

I just did a quick add-up of all the money I have spent in my entire life
on the purchase of automobiles and have come up with a similar
number...about $900 worth of junkers <G>

BTW: My company has provided me with vans for over 30 years now...
so am a bit spoiled i guess...and will never be able to retire due to such a
luxury!!!!

Directly from Epson? No wonder you guys are getting ripped off. You can
buy Epson ink from other vendors. It doesn't have to be lower quality ink.

Do you have a good recommendation...
I;d be happy to try another source!

We buy from a local vendor. Where are you located?

I live in Milwaukee...
so there are plenty of local dealers here...
but find buying locally a bit of a pain...
I usually just buy on-line.

I guess I've just gotten too caught up in the 21st century
as buying locally seems like such a novel idea !!!! <G>
