Dialup modem???
Why would you want to fart around with that outdated piece of shit?

I know many people who have dialup modems. All of them either have it
because they *can't* get anything better or don't want to pay for
better. I know it's odd to think there are still places that are not
even cable ready... even in major cities but there are still blind
spots here and there.

"Why would you want to fart around with that outdated piece of shit?"
was a phrase Measekite directed at someone who owned an outdated
printer. I just wanted Measekite to hear his own words.

You stated very clearly in a previous message that your intent was to annoy
me. Paranoia is an imagined attack or provocation. Your statement and your
actions are clear to all. Just leave me alone and leave my posts intact.

:'(

I don't give a rat's ass about your respect.

Ah I see... very funny. I would have gotten the joke if I paid more
attention to the writings/ramblings. I understand it's hard to explain
to people at times, "if it ain't broke don't fix it". I'd be making
DVD covers with my tiny 5 inch plotter if it still worked.

Beware of printhead clogs. If you must buy aftermarket inks the least
pain in the ass is a prefilled cart but I doubt very much if you will
find a vendor that will disclose the mfg/formulator of what they sell.
They expect you to purchase whatever they choose to put in them.

Actually prefilled 3rd party cartridges are the ones to avoid, especially those
that are too cheap to believe. It has been discussed all the time that they may
contain diluted ink so that they don't clog but print colors poorly. Or they
simply contain poor quality inks (to be cheap) that may clog your printhead as
you said.

On the other hand bulk refill inks are what I favor. There are only a few companies
offering bulk inks. They won't stay long if they don't offer good quality inks. If
they have been around that tells something about their products.

Have been refilling various Canon printers for the past 6
years with absolutely no trouble at all. I am not picky
about the ink, too -- I use only the cheapest ones -- they
are all basically the same. After about 6-8 times refilling
the same cartridge, it sometimes gives funky results. Just
remember to HANDLE WITH CARE and take the cartridge out,
soak the head in 150-deg or so HOT water (not boiling) -
just for 5 minutes or so. This normally cleans any dried
ink out. If that doesn't work, add some 409 or other gen
purpose kitchen cleaner to the hot water and repeat. Rinse
with clean water and drop that sucker back into the printer.

It'll work a bit better if you actually refill the cartridge with ink
just prior to droppping that sucker back in! <s>
