That's right, I remember reading about that now. Apparently the pun on the
word "Frugal" was missed by most Americans as, although it's frequently used
in England (as well as Aus and NZ), Americans don't seem to use it and it
was causing some confusion in the US.

Oh well, at least typing www.froogle.com into the browser still takes you to
Google/Products.

I think most americans got it, but just a select few
complained that they didn't and in america it's the squeaky
wheel that gets the grease... nevermind the rest.

ebay is NOT the place to buy hardware...

I buy hardware from eBay couple times a years, and it can save quite a bit
of money if you do your math right.

And yes, there are people killing each other to be the one who does the
most overbidding <bg>

I treat it like gambling--don't offer more than you can afford to lose.
So far, I've come out ahead.

I see all those 16 gigabytes usb flash drives on eBay, for example:

I've never had a problem with an eBay transaction. Several items did not
work or never arrived, but the seller always was good for it.

Everything is possible, and especially for people with less experience.
But so far so good I haven't run into those yet to share my personal
experience.

Me? I even ordered quite afew from Hong-Kong to save extra $$$$ when I
can't find reasonable price from USA sellers. Also, many of eBay's used
items are more expensive than brand new one people can get from many online
stores without having to fight and wait.

Neah! you shouldn't treat eBay as gambling because you should know
exactly what lowest street price is, then go for the STEAL *not* gambling.
Cuz I usually buy from seller with lot of positive feedbacks, and won't mind
if other place a higher bid.

Cuz, I use software to take care of the bidding for me .. I just enter the
max amount I want, and place few seconds before closing time. That's it! I
don't have to waste any of my valuable time watching and worrying.
