Why was I just banned for no reason?

Hello all. I created my account, TopNotch729 yesterday. I set it up exactly how I was supposed to, checked out the forums, and went offline.
Skip to the next day.. I log back in only to find out I'm banned. Why? "Spam".. I don't understand how I was "spamming" even though I didn't post a single thing.
I'm also having an issue now where I can't use my main E-mail, as the account I added it to is now banned. I'd appreciate any help on why this happened.
