ZoneAlarm Pro 4.5.538.0 prevents restarts

L

Larry(LJL269)

This is happening on my PC whether restart is initiated
by DI6, PM7, Start Menu, or
C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -r -t 0

I'm gonna start treating ZA updates like MS updates:
2nd only to my stupidity for PC snafoos :)

ZA's new support 'robot' sucks too.

Comments/suggestions/corrections appreciated.
Your help is even more appreciated. Thanks- bye- Larry

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

In all cases includung PM7,.. workaround is simply to
RESTART. No need to run PM&,... over again.

It works fine on all the computers, W98 and several XP
machines I have installed it on in the past week or two.

Thank you Jim 4 ur response.

I noticed this after installing Gyro GP1200 Keyboard
whose mouse you can use in the air. Its amazing. You
can even assign keystrokes to wrist movements. But it
closes OK & everything disappears from Tray except ZA.

Moreover the previous vers of ZA had major problems
blocking some C++ macros of mine and was a major reason
4 new ZA vers. And the Gyro soft has some bugs(3-it's
new too)) I'm working with their TS on.

Given ur experience I think it best to report it to
Gyro TS 1st. Comments/suggestions/corrections
appreciated. Thanks- bye- Larry

Running the obvious experiment, I found that Gyro
GP1200 Keyboard causes shutdown part of a restart to
STOP. Good example of how the process of posting can
trigger a solution for at least morons like me!

Thanks- bye- Larry
