Hi everyone. Just after some advice. I cant use zone alarm
in Windows 2000 as it causes lots of weird problems.
1. cant dial in or off the interent.
2. some pages including updates wont load.
3. got to the stage where my systme was crashing.(running
very slowly and at times freezing completely)
I resolved the problem by uninstalling zone alarm.
Any body got any ideas about how I can get zone alarm to
work with 2000? Is this a known issue?
thanks

I've never had that problem, and have been using the free version of
Zonealarm for several years. I can't even think of any ZA settings that
would cause this behavior.

If you have email checking on, I would try turning that off. Otherwise,
enabling Internet access for those applications that you trust to access the
Internet should do the trick.

If you are using your ZA-protected system as a DHCP server (Internet
Connection Sharing) then you may have to use the medium firewall setting or
the client systems may have some trouble. Also, Generic Host Process for
Win32 Services must be enabled for server access. Other than that, it
should all work fine.

Do you have any real-time virus protection running? That might also cause a
conflict.
