Version 5.1.011 released yesterday and available for download.
WinXP with SP2 users may want to avoid it for now although it is not on the
'list'...yet.
Any brave soul who has downloaded and installed/used it might want to relay
their experience (good, bad or ugly) to those here who haven't tried it.

=== I had no problem at all , Win.XP home , I already had ZoneAlarm
5.1.011
installed , but I just told the service pack 2 "window" to use it
instead of the built-in one ===========

You can always turn off DEP so that you will never have a problem with software
installs on WinXP SP2 :)

example boot.ini file: DO NOT USE
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[boot loader]
timeout=0
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS

[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP" /fastdetect
/NoExecute=OptIn
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JUST change the /NoExecute=OptIn to /NoExecute=AlwaysOff
REBOOT the computer.

DEP will be disabled. Software will install as before with no grief & no
damage to your OS :)

Yesterday? I've been running 5.1.011.000 for a while. Two weeks?

It runs on my XP Home system.
Previous versions screwed up browsing, slowing, or stopping page loads.

I'm a long time user of the personal ZA. Using 3.7.202 right now. When I
upgraded to 4.x it kept dialing out and I couldn't make it stop. Their
support forums were full of this same complaint and no one was able to solve
it at the time. So I moved back to 3.x. Is this auto-dialer still a
problem with the latest version?

The dial out feature which was looking for updates was removed and version
4.5 has been stable. This version also works well in XpSp2 BUT ZA is not
going to develope the ZAplus and there is an opportunity to download and
upgrade to the Zone Alarm Pro version 5.1 which is adjusted to be recognized
by the Sp2 update. The ZA forums rate 5.1 as stable. I haven't installed it
as yet

As I said, why would anybody use Zone Alarm?

I use ZoneAlarm, and have done so for four years, without any problem on
W98SE.

I have installed it on several other home computers running W95, 98, ME
and XP Home.
The only irregularity I've encountered was with one of the
4.x-versions(don't remember which) on XP Home. XP reported problems with
TrueVector.

I had no problem until today, it keeps telling me (every few minutes) I have
a trojan in my system32 folder, called wuamgrd.exe, and it will not
quarantine it, so I tried anti trojan software, a squared, and the trojan
scan site, both of which tell mee I am clear, who is wrong?
