Zone Alarm Update problems

This is the second time I have updated the free version of Zone Alarm
and each time I must uninstall it because certain programswon't run.
Specifically, Trying to get my mail from Earthlink or Yahoo. I use XP
Pro.Also, other programs won't run such as getting my bank info. I
must shut down Zone Alarm before these programs will run. Each time I
must install the copy I previous used.

Anybody with this problem or suggestions??

I'm still trying to figure out how to make Zone Alarm tell me what is
causing incoming traffic. This is one of the least user friendly programs
I've ever seen.

When you remove the previous version, be sure to remove all registry
entries and check windows explorer to confirm all folders of zone alarm
have been removed. If you the select the automatic choice of removal,
parts of the program will be left on your hard drive and you will have
to remove those manually.
Defrag your system after removing the program, then install the new
version.
