I am seriously considering buying the ZA SS 6.0. I currently use NOD
32, ZAP and am on the verge of buying Norton Anti SPam 2005.

Before I do this, can someone comment on how good the anti-virus and
anti-spam programs are in the ZA security suite?

TIA

Vet antivirus is certified for detection only, not for cleaning of viruses.
It is very light on the resources of your computer and scans fairly fast.
The antispam is from Mail Frontier and it is extremely easy to use and
understand. You may configure the antispam to your liking. Overall, I
would say Zone Labs did a good job, but I do find my system running a tad
slower now. The triple defense firewall seems to slow you up a bit. If it
truly does keep you safer, I may overlook it.

Good God man think about what you're doing!

You have the best AV in the world and a good firewall in place. Never
ever buy antispam software, it's the biggest waste of money. If you
want to reduce spam, use something like Mozilla Thunderbird or another
one of the countless email clients with antispam features.

Oh, and avoid anything by Symantec.

What's wrong with Symantec? They have a really good AV program. Don't know
about their other stuff though.

It's pretty widley accepted that Norton etc used to be good products,
but now their software is just bloated, resource-hungry garbage. I'm
not just repeating lines from Symantec-haters - I've had nothing but bad
experiences for years now with Norton products. Not just with resources
but basically not stopping viruses.

I've used both the Norton and Symantec Corporate AV programs and there's
precious little performance increase over the flashier home user editions.
