Hi,
Enable compressed folders in Windows 2000
http://www.rdisruption.com/2000/2k0028.htm
"Windows 98 and ME includes as part of its Plus! kit a zip package that lets you
browse zip files from Explorer. Windows 2000 does not come with this
functionallity. However, you can enable this functionality in Windows 2000 by
performing the following steps ..."

Thanks I was looking more for an unzipping program rather that a zipping
one.
The person I am trying to help gets zipped files in email and can't unzip.

Agreed but its not expensive either. 440.00 US is very good for a program that
I tend to use on a daily basis.

What would I do without it when I can ZIP files to not exceed my ISPs email size
limitation.

It also recognizes UUencoded files and other encapsulating and archive formats.

.....it's $29 USD, for what it's worth - I don't know where you're shopping,
but that's a heck of a markup!

Regardless, I agree, and think it's good to pay people who write useful
utilities such as this.

Yeah, a "two finger Charlie" typo. I meant $40.00 US. You know the old $ sign
above the 4 mistake.

www.powerarchiver.com offers a great
compressor/zipper/unzipper/selfexecutable zipper/cab
maker/arc/uuencoder/unencoder/mime/yEnc/LHA/TAR/BH/ARJ/ACE/RAR/REP/JAR/ARC/G
ZIP/BZIP2/XXE/ZOO/LZH/Windows CAB/B64/PK3/QWK/WAR/EAR/WinAmpSkins/XPI with
1.44 spanning/any size spanning and with Rijndael AES Encryption (128 bit
and 256 bit)/Triple DES (168 bit)/DES (56 bit) and BlowFish (128 bit). They
offer a trial version as well that works great. I've used them all and I
really like this one.

hmmmmm it doesn't say how long the evaluation time period is for. Does it
time out? Or can you just keep evaluating with a nag screen for as long as
you can endure? <s>

I have known it to work indefinitely w/o Registration. It does not break after
a set period. And its bitchning about Registration is mild. However I suggest
registering the software so those who created it get their fair share.

Enzip, Filzip, ZipGenius, Quickzip, Camzip are all good and all free.
www.tucows.com, www.cnet.com, www.zdnet.com, and other download sites have
them or just type them into Google and find them. I use Filzip and love it
(no spyware on any of these that I can find). ZipCentral is another good
one but haven't seen it around in a while.

Google says it's here:

There's more but any of these will work. FWIW, I've used it for years,
it works fine for me.
