Zip Extraction Wizard Very Slow

With Windows Defender installed the MS Zip Extraction Wizard extracts Zip
files very slowly. No setting in Defender has any effect on this problem.
Disabling the Defender service had no effect either. Uninstalling Defender
fixed the problem and zip extraction speed returned to normal. The older MS
antispyware program does not cause this problem. Anyone else notice this
problem? Might be a bug.
 
I haven't seen this, but I usually work with only rather small zip files.
What Antivirus or other real-time scanners are installed?
