when I replaced my computer 2 years ago, I did not get it
with a zip drive so I put my old one in, Iomega 100, and
it will not work, the properties say it is a FAT file?
per the trobleshooting web page for XP it says to go
into MS-DOS and rename the problem software or driver.
there hasgot ot be an easier way ??? I have never been
in DOS looks pretty intimadating

The Zip Drive uses the FAT file system but it should work just fine if you
have the right drivers for it. You should be able to get them at the Iomega
web site. My Zip 100 external USB drive works great under XP.

Most likely a driver issue. Check with Iomega site for the proper drivers.
My internal 250 works fine, and I've had to reinstall XP a couple of times.

Assuming that you have an internal Zip drive, have you made sure that the
zip drive is set as a slave and your hardrive or cd/dvd drive is set
properly for two drives on that same cable which you are using?

Definitely a driver update problem. Iomega has updated their drivers
at least 3 times in the past two years. You need to check their site
from time to time. :-)
