Zero in Zip Code

Our IT person just installed the latest version of Microsoft Office and now when doing mail merges, the zip code field won't merge properly. If it starts with a zero, it doesn't show. With every other version I've ever used, since I started using computers when I was in high school, you corrected this in the source, in Excel. (Format cell, custom, yada yada yada) But that won't work and I can't figure this out. This is driving me crazy. Any advice? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks a lot.

Mitchell,

Have you tried a numeric picture switch in your mergefield

{ Mergefield Blah Blah \# 00000 }

Greg's answer is probably what you need, but the reason you're experiencing
the problem is that Word 2002 and above use a new linking method (OLEDB)
that doesn't bring along number formatting. You can choose to use your
former linking method or use the numeric picture switch as Greg suggests.
