Hi,

I heard about Zafi.b today.
Could anybody tell me what sort of Virus it is (what it does, how to get
it).

It is a mass mailing worm that originated in Hungary. Besides doing the regular
thing like mass mailing to mailing lists, it also undertakes a dictionary
attack to Hungarian sounding names. It does not use DNS to undertake these
attacks; it guesses the name of the server by prepending the domain name with a
host name such as "mail" or "mx". There may be more host names used, but these
are the only ones I can identify right now because we have one of each. Because
few people in North America have Hungarian email addresses, it ends up as a
sort of DoS attack. It also sends a copy to the registered email address for
the domain.

try google or more specifically visit the antivirus sites such as
www.vet.com.au/www.ca.com - Very few of us in these newsgroups will be
able to inform you to any more detail than those sites can.
