I have Windows XP-SP2. I use IE6. I have Flash Player 9, which works. I have
shockwave, which works. I can view videos at every site except YouTube. I
have disabled my firewall. Doesn't help. I have changed the settings in IE6
Security to medium low. Doesn't help. Everything worked great on 10/21/07 but
quit working on 10/22/07. Did system restore. Didn't help. I have lots of
memory and a very fast processor. YouTube is the only site where I cannot
watch videos. I get the message, generally, that I need the latest flash
player (which I have) or I need to enable javascript (which I had already
done). Nothing helps. Can someone please give me a logical fix for this
continuing problem?

Hi,
Turn on the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall and
disable any third-party firewall, security suite, other security programs.
See if a third-party program is causing the problem.

Are you blocking cookies from doubleclick or other ad-related sites? I've
read that at a few sites, if these cookies are blocked, other content will
not display. Check cookie settings at Internet Options> Privacy.

Is a HOSTS file blocking cookies or other content?
To check the HOSTS file in Windows XP...
Make sure that Windows is showing hidden files and is
not hiding file extensions for known file types then check for a HOSTS file
at [C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc] Open the HOSTS file with notepad. If
there are entries you wish to disable, you can put the pound sign (#) in
front an entry to disable it. Then File> Save. Or you can rename the HOSTS
file to HOSTS.OLD to disable it.

Hope this helps,
Don
