That was the first real game I ever got to play on me first pc michael 118 . I know its dated and not one of the best but I think it is very good and gave me a lot of happy hours playing it . There is a no-cd patch that I used to speed up the game a bit and save the original cd . Also it makes playing a lot easier as it is then simply click and play .
I'm using a program called Game Jackal that does the same sort of job as the no-cd patches but you don't need to hunt around and download patches . All the work is done by the software , you load the game once with the cd and set the program , and then its click and play . You do need a large hdd drive though and a disc imaging program like Deamon or Alcohol or Power Iso .

:D

I'm getting into this kind of game again Abarbarian :D
I had something fairly similar a long time ago (i've forgotten the name :(), very basic, but very easy to get in to.
The good thing about seeing these lists of peoples fave games is that it reminds of some real gems! :).

My all time favs

1. Civilisation (great game - played many versions - but beyond the sword is good

2. Elder Scrolls Oblivion - love it

2. Sim City - haven't played this for years but great Sim. Sim City 4 is good

4. X 3 Reunion - this is a space sim - used to love Elite

5. Sonic Hedgehog (play it with my kids)

Top 5 PC games I have enjoyed the most are..

1 HALO (Estimated 1500+ hrs playtime over 4 yrs)
2 Return to Castle Wolfenstein (Estimated 1000+ hrs playtime over 6 yrs)
3 Quake 3 (Estimated 1000+ hrs playtime over 7 years)
4 Call Of Duty 1&2 (Estimated 1000+ hrs playtime)
5 GRAND PRIX 3 (Geoff Crammond) Estimated 1500+ hrs playtime over 8 yrs

Close Runners up are..

6 LINKS Golf (Championship Edition) Estimated 2000+ hrs Playtime over 5 yrs
7 Duke Nukem 3D
8 FAR CRY
9 TIGER WOODS PGA Tour
10 DOOM (The Original) Estimated 1000+ hrs playtime over many yrs

Thats my list and I certainly put many thousands of hours into these games over the years and still play lots of them even now, some are Win 95 and Win 98 games but play happily in XP...

Like Flopp's Castle Wolfenstein gets a mention solely on being one hell of a Class game..Geoff Crammonds Grand prix 3 is the ultimate simulation and still can't be bettered even today imo..Halo tops it for me though as the most enjoyable game I ever played, I'll never forget the first time I picked up my controller and played this game I didn't put it down for hours and didn't even eat my dinner I was that embroiled in the game, I thought of nothing but getting home to play Halo for what must have been a week or more until I completed it. then it was multiplayer over the net for what was months..

Tough, but here go's

Hard to pick a no.1, so this is just a top 5...

1. Civilisation, from start to present
2. Deus Ex
3. Mafia
4. Championship, and then Football Manager
5. Call of Duty Series

I could put Max Payne, HL 1+2, Bioshock, Fear, Far Cry, The Witcher, Morrowind/Elder Scrolls, and a few more, I'm sure, into that list.

Boy, that is TOUGH!

I've added up all those hours and you are 106 years old

Well, ok, not really but as I was feeling nerdy, that's 1.7 years continuous you've spent playing online games

That is some serious Game time I have notched up there, but I suppose over the course of 12 years since owning a pc that sounds about right..

Divide that into 12 years and it don't seem so bad..

Works out at about 6 to 7 weeks a year..ugh thats not too bad..:D

C'mon Flopp's give us an estimate of your gaming time since owning a pc I bet its a few thousand hours aswell..
