Your registry might be corrupted. (Code 19)

Hello,
I have been battling a problem with my W2K server and have been unable to
solve it. I was hoping someone might have run into the same issue and has a
resolution.

On my server I can not get the keyboard and mouse to operate. I get "Your
registry might be corrupted. (Code 19)" when I check the status of the
devices. I have tried replacing the PS2 keyboard and mouse with USB but I
get the same results.
Both the keyboard and mouse will work up until I logon onto the server. If
I leave the logon prompt screen up the keyboard and mouse will work fine. I
can type in the user name and password fields. As soon as I click or enter
on the logon button the keyboard and mouse fail to operate.

I have tried all the updating I can think of, (bios, drivers, etc...) I
found a few things on technet about some registry enteries, but these have
not resolved the issue either.

This is a production box, so my down time can be very small. I have gotten
around the problem by using VNC, but I need to resolve this problem.

Server info:
IBM X250
Dual Xeon 900
4GB Ram
W2K Server Standard (SP4), running SQL 2K
HDD: OS running on raid 1 (36GB HDD). SQL running on 2 sets of Raid 5.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like your profile might be corrupted. Create a different
admin account under VNC, then use it on the console.

Sorry, I've never experienced anything like this. In such cases
I drop the machine back to to the most recent image I have.
Restoring such an image usually takes about an hour, using
a product such as Acronis TrueImage, Ghost or PQMagic
DriveImage. With NTBackup it will take a lot longer.
