What are people's preferences, or current thinking, about how they like to run their PCs?

I no longer crunch, so it's off at night. :)

:user:

Most nights I switch off unless i'm doing a big download,

Just costs too much money to leave em on nowadays

*Oh and to ad. I hate Hibernate, I think it's a complete waste of time

If I'm in the house and awake, the PC is normally on :).

Very occasionally, I'll leave it on when I'm out if the PC is updating, defragging, backing up or doing something else time consuming.

None of the above, really.

I turn any one off when I'm not using it, simple.

I don't use any energy saving options, including 'hibernate'.

I'll leave one on occasionally overnight if I'm grabbing a big download.

I leave my servers on. Most access to the home network is Laptop usage. The laptop is just closed when done. I think it sleeps, with one eye open.

PC runs whenever i'm home.
The wiring needs replacing in the house & is on the list to do!:thumb:

I get home its goes on, i go bed it goes off. Unless it doing something.

other than that its on most of the time.

We turn our computers off when we go to bed,no point leaving them on; electricity costs so much now.

Unless I am rebuilding it:lol:I leave it on as I am crunching:thumb:but will have to see how much the elertric is, as since the move I have only just had a estimated bill as the freezer is in front of the meeter:dance:and cannot read it till we get a under counter freezer for the kitchen.

I switch it off when leaving for work, otherwise as long as I am in it's on. Since it is a laptop keeping it connected to the mains all the time results in battery wear.
