FACT

· Deaths per year resulting from alcohol: 100,000
· Deaths per year resulting from tobacco: 430,000
· Deaths per year resulting from aspirin: 180- 1000
· Deaths per year resulting from legal drugs: 106,000
· Deaths that have ever occurred in direct result of Cannabis: 0 (that’s right zero)

While interesting, your post has little, if anything, to do with the topic
of the newsgroup. Perhaps if you had included a statistic regarding the
number of deaths per year resulting from Windows XP? And by "direct result
of Cannabis" what, exactly, does that mean? Are you implying that the
smoking, snorting or oral consumption of Cannabis and Cannabis alone has
never resulted in the death of a person? What about those unfortunate, and
stupid, people who were drinking alcoholic beverages and smoking pot then
attempting to operate a motor vehicle? Would they be included in the "death
as a result of Cannabis" category? Just so there are no misunderstandings,
I can say with some certainty that I have misplaced more pot than most
people ever smoke. In the future, post on topic, post often.

Go Kevin!!! Good reply.

It helps to read the papers. One died last week, an OD caused by chewing
leaves.

I'm also curious as to where the pointless statistics relate to. The whole
world, England, Asia, surely not the US?
This is an International NG you know.

No surprise. too much of _anything_ is fatal. There have been
suicides by drinking water. Even helium, which has no toxicity at
all, will kill you if you breathe it pure for as long as it takes (a
minute?) to run out of circulating oxygen.

I think the problem is that the statistics record only deaths caused by an
overdose of cannabis. How many of those tobacco deaths were caused by an
_overdose_ of tabacco? How many people died of cancer because they smoked
cannabis? I bet those are hidden in the tobacco figures.
