The graphic card I'm going to be getting is the Radion 9800 XT as it
apparently is a better card then the nivida Geforce 5950 which I was
originally going to buy going by this review site:

http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NTM3

Or maybe as it'll be in the first quarter of next year the XT
replacement, depending of course on finances.

As I said in my previous question post I want to do 3D Studio Max work
[and AutoCad work to port into 3DSM], and have games for
entertainment.

Today I've been looking at moniters on the web to see what prices they
are to go with the ATI card. The Sony GDMFW900 is aimed at the type
of work I want to do, BUT, GDMFW900 is a serious piece of kit with a
coresponding serious price tag, i.e. here in England you won't get
much change out of £1,400.

Do any of you lot have a GDMFW900 moniter on your system or know
anyone who has a Sony GDMFW900 moniter on their system?

Also is it worth my while paying out that much? I was originally
going to get an iiyama 514 22" moniter as it to is aimed at grapic and
cad designers, but unlike the Sony moniters I don't think it's got a
triniton flat screen.

Which ever moniter I get it has to be a big screen i.e. up to 22-24
inches.

You can save money and get better overall performance by going with a CRT
instead of an LCD if you're doing really serious work.

Recommend you take a look at the ViewSonic P225F. I notice DABS has it for
£608.65 including VAT.

At 31Kg, it's a real hernia inducer, though. ;-)

You had better hope that ATI has gotten it's act together with their OpenGL
drivers.

Time yet, if I go for the sony it'll be June - July before I have
enough saved. So ATI has 6 months the rectify that bug problem.
