You won't believe your eyes...

When I saw this I just had to take a picture and share it with you all!

check out the task manager on this computer:

imagine having that sort of setup at home!! :)

That be two quad cores in a dual CPU board eh? :)

And 8Gb RAM if I'm not mistaken?

I think it was a phenomenal FOUR dual core processors :)

From memory yes 8 gigabytes of ram.

I saw this system with 32 gigabytes of RAM! Imagine that.............

The 32 gigabytes was on another machine it was inserted using 4 pci riser cards with 4 slots on each riser card.

It's part of my new job folks. Some of the hardware we use is next level. Most hard drives are SAS! Serial Attached scsi, super fast.

There's LOTS of fiber optical cables and host bus adapters, using network attached stored and direct attached storage.
I saw this NAS with 15 X 1TB HDDs. It blew me apart.

15 terabytes of disk space imagine that............

Hmmmm......looks similar to something I have crunching away here :D

wow wow wow

is that 4 physical cpus or 2?

must be 4? cost a lot?

i'll have to find that system with 32 gb of memory!

ahh hold on that must be TWO QUAD core cpus... just like my picture im getting confused

Im sure ive seen 4 quad core systems they must be 16 boxes lol

2 x X5340 Quad CPU's running at 3GHz :thumb:

Cost a bit - around £1400 when I built it.

wow that's impressive what board you got there?

Up the memory! Up the ante!

Does it go really fast?

Be more impressed with the OP if the rig was actually doing something

bloody hell ady

that's not a machine you got there, it's an boeing 747! It must be fast!

Its pretty quick - but to be honest 2 x overclocked Q6600 systems will do more work overall than this - but the main advantage here is having only the one box and components.

Oh...and with all those fans it sounds like a 747

haha
i got a sound system as loud as a 747

but have you considered going for silent fans?

Nope - because the case fans are in special removable housings, and as the CPU fans are 80mm I need as much CFM as possible from them as these babies run hot when overclocked
