You guys can't see what's happening. - People have been posting messages here
for 9 months now about FP shutting down when creating a hyperlink. Meanwhile
the Microsoft sycophants keep posting comments either making you feel stupid
for not knowing how to create a hyperlink in html, or diverting the
conversation in some other way.

There is NEVER going to be a fix coming from microsoft! Wake up and smell
the coffee.

Hey, goober. I have posted solutions to this no less than 12 times in the
past two years.

Go use Google groups and find one of them and use it. Or, STFU and wait for
the patch. Note however the patch is probably not going to get released for
older versions so if you are using one of them you probably have to fix your
code instead of getting a patch.

The problem is the display box (the icons near the files in the box) crashes
because of corrupted or stupid information in headers. FP queries all the
files headers to look find out what program to open, and what icon to use.
(and sometimes the title) Upon finding the file, often the problem is
obvious. The "Save as" box and the "file open" box probably also crash, but
since they are less often used, nobody notices that.

Actually, you don't get it.

Everything is about priorities buddy. The software you are complaining about
is 4 years old. It is the last in it's line. There is an upgrade path out
there. There are more critical software pieces out there. At least they are
working on it.

At least the program runs normally otherwise. Just don't use design view to
do links, do them in code view

It could be Adobe. CS2 is 2 years old. Sorry, buy the new version. We don't
support any of the CS2 apps on Vista.

Yep, more of the same. Defending microsoft to the very end. - What you're
saying is like telling a motorist who buys a car and the electronic ignition
fails, that he/she needs to be able to rewire it to accept the old
points/distributor system.

I've spent thousands of dollars over the last 15 years on microsoft
products. This is the first time they've really told me to just bend over and
take it, and you guys are willing to help hold me still while they do it.

Thanks for nothing!

Hmm, I'm thinking that maybe instead of using the word "sycophant", I should
have used "apologist"

Apologist = a person who argues to defend or justify some policy or
institution

All of your trolling isn't going to change the answer MS provided. All
you're concerned about is shooting the messenger.

| If they were working on it, it would have been resolved after 6-7 months
| since been reported first.
|
| A better response would be that "MS is aware of the problem but they don't
| intend to resolve it since they have better, important things to do (like
| designing Hold 'em Poker for the Vista users). Buy Expression Web (whether

| And as for the man without a legit name above, I have news for you, Gomer.
| If your 'fix' was really a fix, all of the FP MVP would be listing it as a

Has any of you considered that FP works fine under Windows XP, but has this issue only under Windows
Vista, which makes the issue more of a Windows Vista OS created issue, not FP created, in which case
the fix would be release in a Windows Vista Service Pack.

Mr. Pepper, since when complaining about a genuine bug has become trolling?
I think if anything at all, you are trolling by using your MVP status and we
should be <plonking> you. I know you MVPs are tired of us complaining about
this problem but you don't own this newsgroup or Microsoft. If you don't
like to read about genuine customers complaints (yes, some of us are very
frustrated with MS over this issue) then maybe it is time for you to
surrender your MVP title. No one is forcing you to read our complaints. Talk
about arrogance!
