yet another web problem

Has anyone else run into this problem? I use ask.com alot and when I get a
listing of possibles and I click on one I get "This page cannot be
displayed" and a bunch of other information at the bottom. Now I know it
isn't a server error or that the webpage just isn't there. Because I click
"back" and then refresh, choose the possible answer again and the page comes
up fine. Now I don't understand this. I've been told to clear the cache, I
have done that each and every time and it still does it. So it isn't a
problem with pages being refreshed. It's not really that big of a problem
just rather exasperating.

What would tossing my cookies do? Except make a mess on the floor :)
hehe....Wouldn't deleting the cookies make it difficult to gain access to
places that you have access to?IE MSN Groups? or other places that place a
cookie on your computer showing that you have a membership, and if you
delete the cookie the server can't tell if you are a member?

Rusty
Rusty,
Have you also dumped your cookie folder?

Rusty,
Yes, you might have to re-enter some passwords, OR, you can
selectively dump the cookies and leave the ones you want...
Hope this helps.

Rusty,
FWIW, I keep a list of all my Logon and PW's on a piece of
PAPER just for this reason.. I don't like having to sort thru all
the cookies to find out what I do or don't want... Much easier to
just type them in the next time you go there... I do the same with
anything I subscribe to which is very little, but nonetheless, if you
have any kind of crash, you still have this data... I actually make a
Notepad file with all this on it, but I print it out occasionally on
hard paper... Problem solved in any case.
