Synapse Syndrome

Whenever I change newsgroups in the left hand pane, there is a (seemingly
random) post highlighted, even though I have not selected anything. I have
posts to be marked as read after only one second, so these posts get marked
as such, even while I am just flicking throgh newsgroups and not reading
them.

I was looking forward to a new version of OE, but now we get this rubbish.

I think what is happening is that its opening the next unread post. If you
have it set to show all messages, then when you return to a NG, it will then
go to the next posted message. If its set to hide read messages, then it
goes the top of the list.

We asked for a way to turn off this behavior, but it was too late in the
development period to do that.
