Yesterday morning I lost TV channels...

I set about re-scanning but ended up with fewer channels. I scanned
again and got even fewer channels. I started with 72; then it was 56;
then it was 41; now it is 31.

All channels were working yesterday. I got an update this morning around
09:00 GMT. Has this got something to do with what is happening to my
system? Does anyone know?

Yesterday evening (GMT) I received a further update and rescanned the TV
channels. It went up to 56. It remained at 56 after rescanning this morning.

TIA.

Check what engineering work is being done on your transmitter. It may
just be that the signal strength on some muxes is temporarily reduced.

You should also check that none of your aerial connections are making
poor contact as this can also cause loss of channels from signal
attenuation.

First off what country are you posting from?
You obviously know in USA Analog TV has been shutoff awhile ago.

What exactly are you 'scanning" there dear, you trying to find channels
which went off the air half-year ago?
Wake up.
Get Cable, Satellite or DTV. It's pretty basic.

Stan, DEAR, if you took 4 seconds to look at his headers you would have seen
that he is posting from the UK. IF you need help to learn how to view
headers, please generate a new post. Then make sure that your post doesn't
disappear from the usenet servers and I am sure someone will come to your
rescue.

Even with digital TV, you still scan.
What the hell are you talking about?

Cable?
Not everyone wants 250 channels of crud.

I can't find the BIMBO channel.

I have done the latter. My TV set is picking up the channels normally.
However, I assume this indicates that you know of nothing MS related
that may have caused the problem.

My address has a .co.uk TLD.

I am in teh UK.

Irrelevant for the above reason.

No.

Wake up.

I drink tea not coffee.

I rescan regularly. Last time a couple of weeks ago for channel ajustments.

Why should I pay more.

Part of the 'digital switchover' preparations I'd guess ....
