Hello all,

I have an area chart, I would like years to display on the X-axis and
they're not consecutive, I want my years to look like this (1970,
1980, 1990, 1992, 1993). But they're automatically spacing out evenly
and I need 1990, 1992 and 1993 to be close together.

HELP! I'm working in PP XP.

Thanks-Danielle

Hi,

See if this helps.

Right click on the chart| Chart Options| Axes| Category (x) Axis| Change the
radio button to Time Scale.

That will force graph to put dates relative to each other. But I'm not sure
it is what you are seeking, though. I think it just changes the problem to a
new one. Else, please holler back.

If these years are just numbers (as opposed to complete dates such as
1/1/1980), you should switch to a XY Scatter chart. While Glen's
suggestion should also work, technically, Graph will think it is
working with dates from the 1905-1906 time period. This is because MS
store dates as numbers, starting with 1 being 1/1/1900
