Hi, I have been having trouble with yahoo groups lately. I try to get onto any of them and I am given a 999 error, website temporarily unavailable. problem is, others in the group can get on just fine. I can also get on a t work,it is only my home computer. I have Norton and ran Adaware and nothing. then sometimes, it just works again...any ideas? I have even deleted cookies, history, etc. nothing.

Better off asking that question in a Yahoo newsgroup..or Yahoo help/support.

Not really, they either ignore you or have no clue...I don't know, i updated Adaware and ran it now it works...but is it because of Adaware or the glitch that always lets me do it sometimes not others? ugh

nothing.

Have your friends that can get in do a traceroute. You do one, too. Could
be you happen to be going through a host that is farked. Had the same
problem with creative.com (which, for me, always went through a particular
host that couldn't connect to their web farm). I could use anonymizer.com,
samspade.org, and other web sites that let me connect from there (so I had a
different route which did not go through that host). Creative had to fix
the host before I could get in through that route.

In addition to AdAware, use HijackThis, Spybot S&D, and expert advice
at SWI Forums (all free). Complete instructions are available at:

Search your hard drive, including all hidden and system folders, for
file "hosts". The only legit copy will be in
....\system32\drivers\etc.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
